As spiritual beings, archangels do not have a distinct scent in the biological sense. However, particular scents are associated with their presence. Furthermore, it has been proven that fragrances and scents also promote a state of relaxation conducive to meditation. Thus, the smoke released by incense purifies the space and carries the prayer away. Some people who are sensitive to the spiritual realm say they sense a floral, resinous or fresh scent when an archangel is near.
